The second set of public workshops for the Fort Indiantown Gap JLUS were held on October 9, 2013 at the East Hanover Township Building in Dauphin County and on October 10, 2013 at the Union Township Building in Lebanon County. The objectives of these workshops were to provide a project update to the public; and to provide community members an opportunity to increase their understanding of issues identified and of the FTIG influence areas being addressed through this JLUS.
During these workshops, the project team gave an overview of the current status of the JLUS process and presented the compatibility issues that have been identified to date for the communities surrounding FTIG operating areas. Additionally, geographic areas of concern were discussed to provide a frame of reference of where current or potential issues may occur. A brief overview of some common tools used to address compatibility was also presented. The Strategy Toolbox fact sheet was also made available to meeting attendees.
